Questions before you start
Do you build startup MVPs with AI-assisted coding and manual development?
Yes. We scope MVP development and custom web applications from Erode. AI-assisted coding can support implementation; the founder remains responsible for architecture, manual review, security and agreed acceptance checks. Read our AI-assisted and manual development approach before choosing a delivery method.
Why not just buy existing software?
Often you should, and we will say so. Custom is worth it when the off-the-shelf option forces you to change how the business works, or when the per-user pricing overtakes the build cost. We work that out with you before quoting.
What happens if we outgrow the first version?
That is the point of settling the architecture, data model and roles first. A first version built properly grows; one assembled quickly gets rewritten.
Who owns the software?
You do. Source code, database and accounts transfer to you on final payment, with no licence to keep paying and no lock-in.
Can we start small and add to it later?
That is usually the right approach. A narrow first release that people actually use tells you more about what to build next than a year of specification does, and it is cheaper to change. The architecture is set up so that the second release is not a rewrite.
Where is our data stored, and who can see it?
Named in the scope before anything is built: the provider, the region and which roles can read what. The hosting and database accounts are in your name, so the data is yours and stays reachable to you whatever happens to our relationship.
What happens if you are not available later?
You own the source code and the accounts, and the handover includes written documentation of the architecture, the deployment process and the decisions behind them. Another competent developer can pick it up. Software that only its author can run is a liability we do not hand over.
Scope, delivery and technical detail
Service scope
MUCO LABS is a founder-led custom software development studio in Erode, Tamil Nadu. We scope and build business applications, SaaS, customer and admin portals, reporting and integrations. You work directly with the founder, review milestones and own the agreed source code and accounts on final payment for one-time projects. Projects can include MVP development for startups, custom web application development and API integration; AI-assisted coding and manual engineering are explained in the scope.
What changes the price
- How many roles, and how different they are. Two roles seeing nearly the same thing is one system. Four that each see a different slice is four.
- One organisation or many. Multi-tenancy changes the data model, the permissions and the testing. Far cheaper decided at the start than retrofitted.
- Integrations and their documentation. A documented API is a task. An undocumented system with no test access is a risk, and it is priced as one.
- Data migration. How much, from where, and what condition it is in.
Quoted separately
- Server, database and third-party API running costs
- Licences for commercial components or paid libraries
- Cleaning data before migration, unless the scope names it
- Feature work beyond the agreed release
Schedule
Discovery is not overhead here; it is what stops the build heading the wrong way for a month. After that the usual delay is access — credentials, test accounts and sample data from the systems we have to talk to. Acceptance testing is scheduled as a real phase with your people in it, because software signed off by the developer alone is not signed off.
Checks and handover
- Responsive layouts and key workflows checked; physical-device coverage agreed in the scope
- Contrast and keyboard operation checked rather than assumed
- HTTPS, security headers and dependency patching wherever we build or host
- A written handover document, so the next person is not reverse-engineering it
- One-time project source code, design files and agreed accounts transferred on final payment
We agree the scope and price, build working versions for review, then deploy and document the agreed handover. Compare pricing and plan terms.
