Refund and cancellation policy

Last updated 2026-09-05.

Please read. This page describes how MUCO LABS actually operates today and is written in plain language. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not a substitute for legal advice. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, ask us and we will confirm it in your agreement, which is the document that governs the engagement.

The principle

You pay for work that has been done. If you cancel, you owe us for what is complete and in progress, and we owe you anything you paid beyond that.

We would always rather resolve a problem than process a refund, so please raise an issue with us before cancelling — most concerns are a scope misunderstanding that can be fixed.

Cancelling before work starts

If you cancel after paying an advance but before we have begun design or development, the advance is refunded in full, less any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (for example a domain registration, which cannot be reversed).

Cancelling during a project

If you cancel mid-project, we assess what has been completed and what is in progress at that point, invoice for it, and refund the balance of anything you have paid above that amount. If the work completed exceeds what you have paid, the difference is payable.

You receive the work that has been paid for — files, designs and source code as they stand.

After delivery

Once a project has been delivered and accepted, the fee for that project is not refundable, because the work has been done and handed over.

Defects in what we delivered are fixed under your agreement rather than refunded. If we delivered something materially different from the agreed scope, that is our problem to correct at our cost.

Recurring services

Maintenance, support and marketing arrangements can be cancelled with the notice period stated in your agreement. The current period is not refunded, and no further period is charged after the notice takes effect.

What is never refundable

  • Domain registration and renewal fees
  • Third-party subscriptions, licences and paid plugins
  • Payment gateway transaction charges
  • Advertising spend already placed with a platform
  • Applicable taxes already remitted

These are costs paid to other companies on your behalf, and we cannot recover them once they are spent.

How to request a refund

Email founder@mucolabs.com with your project name and the reason. We will respond with a written assessment of completed work and the refund amount, if any.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Timing depends on your bank or payment provider.

Disagreements

If you do not accept our assessment, tell us why and we will look at it again with you. We would rather spend an hour resolving something than lose a relationship over it.
